The log file will show you the number of active connections at any given moment. For
example:
16:17:11 Current Post Queue status (49 records in all queues) [0,0,0,0,0,6,0,0,0,43]
16:17:11 Currently processing (69 records in all queues) [0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,69]
This shows that the server is currently in the process of delivering 69 emails.
The iMS POST Server creates all threads at the start. These threads are then pooled
and ready for use at any given moment. The
server will only send mails that are currently scheduled for delivery. It's possible
that the server has gone through all of those
30k mails in 5 minutes and there are only rescheduled mails left in the queue which
will be attempted later on. During peak periods
(when there are a lot of new mails in the queue) then you should see that all or most
threads are busy. The status messages only
print in the log file every 30 seconds.
So, I don't think this is a problem with the POST Server.
HTH,
Howie
