Hi,
I had an issue a while ago where there were major problems with long
running Data and Rcpt templates. Firstly, thanks to everyone who
contributed comments and suggestions. (I'm posting this as I was reminded
of the issue while clearing out some old email).
At the time the mail server was running with an Access database. Not ideal
but it did work for over 12 months with no dramas and if I had simply done
a 'repair and compress' on the database table that might have fixed the
problem. But I decided that the time had come to move to a 'real' DBMS and
since I have done a few sites recently using mySQL I was confident that I
could make the conversion without any problems. In the end this was largely
the case except that 'read' is a reserved work in mySQL and I had to rename
that field in the Mail table to 'readIt' and update some of the iMS and
FusionMail templates to account for it. Otherwise, no problem and it has
been running for over a month now with no complaints.
So, not a problem report, but an update/progress report. I have all the
table conversion scripts if anyone would like to look at them.
