Have you tried cycling the logs throughout the day? Our log files get fairly large too. We have a process run every hour that writes "cyclepost" to the log directory.

With the number of emails I am posting every day, the log file is of no use, because I cann't open it.  .... It's too large.

In the configurator, in the common tab, there is a log exclusions button that I enterred 0.0.0.0 to 255.255.255.255, however the post log file is still written and takes up a lot of space after a 300 k emails an hour for 20 hours a day.

Add any IPs that you want to exclude to the Log Exclusions setting.
