There is not an official FusionMail update but we'll probably have one in the future. For now, I would suggest implementing either Authenticated SMTP or Pop-Before-SMTP.
Both of these require a user to log into the server (SMTP Server and POP Server respectively) before allowing mail relay. Auth SMTP is fairly simple to implement. All you need to do is create an SMTPAuth template (refer to the iMS manual) and check the AUTHENTICATED var before allowing relay.
