Actually, this depends on how you are set up. If you are dedicating an IP address to
the domain and name the subfolders after the
IP address then you can have all iMS templates in that folder. If you are sharing IP
addresses then you name the subfolders after
the domain...but, the only templates that can be used in that subfolder are templates
that get called when the iMS server knows the
domain name. For example, the HELO template is called before the RCPT template so the
server does not yet know the domain of the
recipient.

All POP templates can only be separated by IP address since the POP protocol does not
specify a domain at any point, so this is
correct.

APOP follows the rule for all POP templates. The SMTP auth template occurs before the
RCPT template so this is true as well...

No, you just need to know that POP templates can only be separated by IP address and
SMTP templates can be separated after the RCPT
template or they can all be separated by IP.
