Why not test both? Monitor the CPUs / Disks / Memory /CF usages and make
your choice.

Try it with several size datasets from  10000 - 100000 , and see what
happens.

You chould use query of query functionality in cf5 or do more work in the
SQL.
I would imagine the biggest hit will be in the processing of the 6 cfquerys.
Try to reduce this load , use stored procs if possible.
Temp SQL tables or view might help too.
