You aren't missing anything from your perspective but what about a new
purchaser of iMS and CF right now? They can only get CF MX and so are
stuck. If Howie wants new sales then CF MX compatability is mighty important.
FYI here we are running iMS on CF 4.5 servers but will be upgrading our
production boxes to 5 soon as it runs faster (better CPU sharing, etc), but
this is mainly for the web interface, iMS itself doesn't care much form
that perspective.
