Larry,
I'm no expert, but we're working through the same issue right now. We
haven't gone through the migration yet, but I think it will be *almost* this
simple:
Since sendmail NT has all the user data, including virtual mappings, etc. in
plain text files (the databases are all compiled from those text files,
after all), importing the user data itself will be relatively painless with
a little CFFile action and a couple of simple queries. At the same time, we
ought to be able to copy the mail folders over and map the folder names to
iMS users, or rename them as part of the query action.
Maybe I'm thinking about this wrong, but I'm optimistic that we'll be able
to make the move without killing ourselves and without having to re-enter
all our user data. I'm very interested to hear other approaches and ideas,
especially ones that disabuse me of any notions of ease I'm harboring. :)
Philip
