We have been using reportpoststatus to update records with failed or
delivered. We have not had any problems with our mailings, but have yet to
really deliver any serious quantity. By this thread, I'm wondering if this
method is not recommended??

The only way is to use a script like Tac mentioned.  We're considering some
alternatives for a future release of iMS but
we have not decided on specific yet.
