That was it,
Had CFRegistry turned on, forgot we run CFApplication as a specific user for some CF issue.  Added that user to security on the reg keys.

It looks like ColdFusion either does not have CFRegistry turned on or has insufficient rights to modify HKLM.

I have tried on 2 servers, both windows 2000 with ColdFusion 5 and iMS (iMS 2.4 on one, 2.3 on the other), SQL7 database is on a seperate server.  I have an ODBC connector setup in CF with the user and password of the owner of the database on the database.  Any
