Can't use CFPOP for 2 reasons. The first is that it'll rip the attachments out
of the mail rather than leaving them inline. The second is that with CFMX, the
UID has been obliterated which makes me very reluctant to use it for mail
deleting.
Of course, the point of all this is to have a seemless app where someone presses
download on their mail browser and it does the work without any thinking.
1. mail browser connects to mailserver 1
2. mail server connects to mailserver 2
3. mailserver 2 delivers each message one at a time to mailserver 1 which then
scores it, delivers it and deletes it from mailserver 2
4. when done, mailserver 2 has no mail, mailserver 1 has no mail and the client
has all the mail along with rewritten headers (subject) saying that something is
spam or not.
So if you ever think of doing the pop proxy (along with the NNTP server), know
that I'll be right there to use it and promote it in every way I can. :)
At one time we were thinking of developing a POP proxy that would do this but we
never did that.
Anyway - couldn't you use CFPOP or something like that with the scheduler?
Regards,
Howie
