Sorry - I made a mistake - the server deletes the temp files automatically so you 
don't have to do that.  As for why you have files in the MAIL folder - 

It looks like the server does not remove mails when there is an error (exceeded hop 
count, for example - which is caused by a mail loop).  I'll have someone test this and 
verify what happens.  At any rate - the smtp/b server *should* remove the mail.

I'm not sure why you had 20k mails in there or why that number has changed.
