Yes, makes sense.  As a matter of fact - with iMS you can segregate template by IP 
address.  So, if you have two IPs on the server, you can have your regular mail 
handled by FusionMail and list mail handled by some other code.  For example:

IPs - 10.10.10.1 and 10.10.10.2

Store FusionMail code in:

c:\ims\domains

Store list code in:

c:\ims\domains\10.10.10.2

Configure your domain to have an MX of 10.10.10.1 and create an MX for 
lists.yourdomain.com to point to 10.10.10.2.

Then, mail to yourdomain.com is handled by FusionMail and mail to list.yourdomain.com 
is handled by the list mail templates.
