The only thing different in the latest code is that the client vars have become 
session vars (I think this was changed in FusionMail v2.0 and newer).  At any rate - 
this could be a ColdFusion issue but I'm not sure.  Maybe if you add double quotes 
around the file name like:

file="""#attachreadroot##client.accountnum#\#name#""">
