hello,
i have big problems with initng on my system.
the konfigurations is very complex and initng makes many problems:
- system is shutdown is a specific service since cron is stopped with ngc --
stop daemon/vixie-cron.
this shutdown is not complete, only the most services and daemons are
killed.
- i can't start some services at boot time, the service fail, but if i start it
with
ngc --start service, it works. i can't find any reason, why this don't work
- services which are already used by some programs are tried to shutdown,
but that don't work
i must insert some kill-commands in this services to kill this programs or to
kill all programs
- i use initng 0.6.5 because the next newer version don't boot start services
on my system, so i remember.
- i can't set a state, which service must run as long as programs runs.
it is not possible, to shutdown automount if on program access this mount,
but initng try to shutdown automount bevor all programs are killed.
this programs and services don't need automount, but they can use it and it
is to much work, to insert a use-statement in all such init-files.
- i get a message, that the daemon, which ist started at this moment, is
killed and restart again, but i think, there is a problem with initng. this
daemons work fine, if i start them at command-line and must nut restart
them.
i think, this problem comes with the checking of the pid-file, because there
is something wrong.
- i want to start nagios with the respawn option, but if nagios is restarted,
the parameters are not past to nagios and without parameters, nagios don't
start.
i must start it with a script to get it started allways with parameters.
I help you gladly to make initng to the best init-program an test new
versions and report problems and bugs, but i have no time, to analyse and
change the source-code by myself.
i can try, to get you access to a test-system, so you can see the problems.
