The tty is - simply spoken - your terminal. If you type "amuled" and, after a 
while, you return to the command prompt, but the daemon runs on, it fork()ed 
and detached itself from the terminal. 

InitNG normally assumes that the daemon DOES NOT do this, but can handle those 
situations, too.
