Most of the stats showing boot times seem to use bootchartd to collect the information. There is a RFP (#321784), but it seem no-one volunteered to maintain it yet.
I believe it is vital to know where the time is spend during boot if we are to speed up the boot process, and this suspect this is a tool we want to have in debian. I found some info on a debian package and how to use it in debian from <URL:http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/211>. There is a debian package available from <URL:http://www.minet.uni-jena.de/~joergs/bootchart/>. Anyone here planning to maintain it in debian? It is GPL, and uses shell, perl and java (the two latter to make the graphs. :). <URL:http://www.bootchart.org/> <URL:http://bugs.debian.org/321784> _______________________________________________ initscripts-ng-devel mailing list [email protected] http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/initscripts-ng-devel
