Just my 0,02€ about a past experience with Rosetta :
I had noticed that a parallel translation of Inkscape was existing with Ubuntu,
along with the Rosetta tool. In order to clarify this, I opened an account under
launchpad/rosetta and took a closer look at those new translations.
In fact, it appeared (in those times, should be checked again now) that Ubuntu
developpers try to improve the softs they are packaging (as a lot of
distributions tend to do), and this includes improving the incomplete
translations. However, i didn't understand very well if there is a feedback
process toward original work (Debian, specific applications...), and if yes in
what does it consist. As far as I know, up to now, the fr translation for
Inkscape in Rosetta is simply a duplicate of what's in the svn...
But I admit it can be a way of wasting time/energy and duplicating efforts,

Regards,

   Matiphas
