Thaks for the pointer, I think I found what this is about: (default resolution was changed from 90dpi to 96dpi) In the menu Extensions --> Document, one is supposed to get to a dialog to change the DPI. My version of Inkscape chokes on the script, but the 'Show page info' item probably has this string as a tooltip. So, instead of directly running dpiswitcher.py you can see the page information first.
