Hi everybody,

this is my first attempt to get something on the mailing list. Hope it'll
work out fine :-)

I'm a guy from Germany and got in contact with Neil Watkiss by sending him a
message when the new Inline::CPP distribution came out, as I check the CPAN
regularly. I offered my help because I support the OpenSource Community as
an
active Linux user and Neil encouraged me to join the list, to find out what
could be done.

So for something about me:

I'm a student at an institution where theory and practice parts within a
company change every three months. In theory semesters we learn a mixture
made
up of economics and informatics what is supposed to give you later good
career
chances.
Actually I'm quite interested in the technical subjects, like
Webserver(which turned out to be a linux introduction) and programming. In
programming we
use Java to learn the basic concepts. We're taught by a real hacker who is a
member of the german "Chaos Computer Club" :-)

So I came up with the question, will there be a Java-Perl Binding in the
future ? Neil then described the situation and told me any help is needed.

So I messed with the Inline-API but I have to admit, I didn't understand too
much of it. The Perl knowledge I have so far will probably cover the basics
I guess. Does anybody know how to contribute anyway ?

It would be especially cool, as I already told Neil, because getting help
and knowledge from real programmers is the best way to learn the things that
count.

By the way, if there's something wrong in my messages considering the
English language, whether it's the wrong word, context or grammar, please
correct
me as I try to continuously improve my knowledge :-)))

And finally, can somebody please tell me what this "foo" and "foobar", what
is often used as variable names in examples, mean ?!!

Enjoy yourself.
