You are completely right. I would do the same in your position.  But
should we not force the "perl porters" to correct this problem in the
future releases ?   What can we do about that problem ?

Sometimes I really feel like a maverick  :-)   How comes that so less
people are using AIX ?   It is a very nice system and I like it !
