I just started testing of the latest trial release, failed to install
it and found that this failure was already reported:

I searched the list for an answer but found none. Possibly I missed a
hint. Is there a solution?
Different to Binkley, I do not run Cygwin but Mandrake Linux 8.0 with
perl 5.6.0. (This distribution comes with a special compiler version
called cc (gcc 2.96?).)
