Even though this seems like a cop out answer, it is basically true.
Doing unixy stuff on Win9x is usually an exercise in futility and
head pounding. It mostly comes down to their sucky shell.

I don't like telling people to switch OSes just because of some niggly
detail, but Win9x/native is definitely the worst OS for Inline.
