I'm not sure of the status of JNI under hpux. When you built Inline::Java, did you enable the JNI extension? Was a shared library compiled and installed for your perl? Under linux, it'd be called JNI.so, under HPUX it's JNI.sl. It should be installed for you during the make install step. Do you see it installed when you install Inline::Java?
