Recently I wanted to install pretty new innd in docker container.
And I have problem. When spool is empty ovsqlite has problem with
starting.

When I changed to ovdb - everything started smoothly (well, almost :) ).
I have no time to dig it deeper, but is it possible that sqlite cannot
handle empty spool?

Did you remember to run "makehistory -O"? It's necessary even if there are
no posts, because otherwise the overview system won't know what groups exist.

Wait. For "makehistory -O" I need working ovsqlite-server, didn't I?
But ovsqlite-server has problem to initialize with empty spool.
Kind of "Catch 22" for me.

That's strange. ovsqlite-server never looks at the spool itself.
Its requirements are:

* The configuration file must exist and be readable.

* The directory where the database is to be created
  must exist and be writable.

* The directory where the pid file and the listening socket
are to be created must exist and be writable.

What kind of error message do you get?

Sorry for false alarm :(
After some stracing it turned out that ovsqlite-server started
properly.
But then makehistory -O is sloooow to put groups to overview (when
overview is sqlite)
It took about hour to initialise 1600 groups. (albeit there is rather
heavy IO load)

I thought that something is wrong with ovsqlite because with ovdb this
init is far shorter.

Sorry for that.
