Well it is a surprise to me that (any) standing committee has the power to modify a resolution so freshly passed by the full council. On the other hand, EMU wanted them to reverse R84 and/or R81 (?), which would definitely have been out of order.
But, I think that ASC have acted with a lot of wisdom, and hopefully this will take much of the heat out of the issue - there will still be very important issues to deal with, but I think we will be more disposed to do that constructively.
Interested to hear views from EMU, and also from UN.

If I were a member of Assembly, I'd be peeved.
And I'm not sure that EMU or Uniting Network would be very happy still.
Then again ... we might all rejoice ....
