Television nun's advice for good preaching: 'Keep it simple' By Frauke Brauns Bielefeld, Germany, 28 August (ENI)--An 85-year old Roman
Catholic nun who is one of this year's winners of a top German
preaching prize has straightforward advice for successful
sermons: "You have to keep it simple, stick to one thought and
then point to what is beyond our understanding, point to the
other dimension." Sister Isa Vermehren, born in 1918, was awarded the prize from
the Publishing House for the German Economy (VDW), which singled
out her appearances on the "Thought for Sunday", broadcast on
German television each Saturday evening.
