Now, who’s for a motion to a Presbytery that says something like, “that this Presbytery adopt
the teachings of Leviticus regarding the governance of the churches, ministers, and their
leaders.”
Of course, the people proposing this may mean Leviticus 18 ["Thou shalt not lie with
mankind, as with womankind: it is an abomination." Leviticus 18.22]. However, others
might mean Leviticus 21 [heading: The Holiness of the Priests] where only male priests
are countenanced, so let’s get rid of women from our churches, and many of our male
ministers, too, if they have any physical imperfection, such as even a scar.

Or poor eyesight! And don't forget the injunction not to touch pigskin - so much for playing footie! And not wearing clothes made of two fibres - dammit, those cotton/rayon business shirts are out! (Passing wonder: are clergy robes ever made of two fibres? I bet the stoles are!)

did you all show your butt to the priest when your boils got better?

And I haven't noticed the women not appearing in church once a month while they're in their "time of uncleanness" - nor have I noticed any minister checking up on it!!

Or go to the NT (since many of those bible believing christians are so keen on arguing that those are pre-Jesus commands: what about "women will be saved through childbirth"? Sorry, all you women out there who haven't given birth; you don't qualify for heaven according to Paul.

Let’s also
look at Leviticus 19-20 concerning holiness and justice and penalties for disobedience.

This one has always intrigued me. If Jesus' atonement was universal, and applied to those before him as well as those after him, then why was the death penalty for all those things any more necessary then than post-NT? And if it was necessary then but isn't now, does it mean god's changed?
