Subject: Racism by any name
Date: Sat, 8 Nov 2003 23:13:03 +1030

Amanda and John Vanstone's actions about Mellville Island seem panicky and childish.
They have power but no 'authority'.

The following is partly in response to the continuing human rights abuse of asylum seekers in Australia.
Could it be used as rap? I don't know much about it but think it has the same sort of rhythm. Your are welcome to try, or to make any other use of it to spread the message.

Best wishes,  Allan Nield.

RACISM by ANY NAME

Racism called by any other name,
Is still racism, exactly the same.

Now everybody knows that I’m OK,
Magnanamously let you have your say,
But I’m ready to jump on you real hard,
If you ever try to come into my yard.

Asylum seekers you’re nothing like us,
You don’t feel pain if hit by a bus,
You don’t even love your kids like we do,
We’re morally evolved I think, don’t you?

You Muslims are not anything like us,
You’re easily angered and make a fuss,
From Christians you should be prepared to learn,
And then your place in society earn.

Racism called by any other name,
Is simply masquerading as the same,
Border protection, whatever they claim,
Is one more nail in our coffin of shame.
