LIFE MATTERS with Geraldine Doogue presents: ========================================= "The Price of Eggs" - A Special Life Matters Series Beginning this Monday, 24 November, 9am, on ABC Radio National ========================================= Infertile women who have tried everything else are now increasingly looking to egg donation as a means of having a baby. The fact that it is illegal to buy or sell eggs in Australia has led to the phenomenon of newspaper ads calling for generous strangers to help out. Life Matters producer Ann Arnold followed up one of those ads and tracked what happened over the next year, to Anna, who placed the ad, and Melissa, who responded to it. Follow Anna and Melissa's journey through the ethical, physical and emotional minefield of egg donation, in this six-part series beginning this Monday, 24 November. There are many twists and turns along the way, and a surprise ending. Life Matters will run two episodes a week - on Mondays and Tuesdays - for three weeks and then on Wednesday 10 December there will be a Life Matters talkback canvassing some of the issues raised in the series. -- Peter R.
