I'm sorry Peter, but I couldn't disagree with you more. To me that article was a shallow piece of twaddle. It's the sort of drivel about young people and church/religion that you read all the time, I could write that in ten minutes. Just mention the most popular TV show of the day, rabbit on about young people and what it means to be cool, how the church is failing them, interview a celebrity about something they're not famous for and someone else desperate to get their message in the media who'll give you a few quotes, then just throw in a few semirelevant facts and figures and presto. I put it to you that the only reason you liked it was because it was what you wanted hear and others to hear (and I guess it's possible that the reason I don't like it is it's what I don't want to hear).
That article talked a lot about church, religion, style and being cool, nothing about faith or love or anything of substance. As a 22 yr old I find it really disappointing and frustrating that so many young people are willing to settle for church that is simply as it always has been, just pump up the music and excitement. "As long as it provides the excitement of a mosh pit combined with personal security of being told my place in the world then who cares about the theology and the doctrine I'm being brainwashed with." Our current government might remind me of '1984' but much of the church does to. sorry if that's a bit harsh. James ----- Original Message ----- From: "Peter R. Lots of good research, interviewing, and analysis. VERY positive. > > It is not up on the DT web site, yet. http://dailytelegraph.news.com.au/ > > > -- > Peter R.
