I thought this might be of interest to people in Sydney next week.

Dear All,
In consultation with a number of refugee advocacy groups, the Refugee Action Coalition has initiated a refugee lobby on the opening day of the national ALP conference.
The lobby will be held at lunchtime outside the national ALP conference - 12 noon, Thursday 29 January, Convention Centre, Darling Harbour, Sydney.
Could you please advertise the lobby and encourage others you know to attend. The lobby will be an opportunity for the refugee movement to put its demands and expectations to the "alternate government." The lobby will be held to coincide with the lunch break of the confercne to encourage the attendance and participation of the conference delegates.
RAC will also have a room booked nearby to hold an informal discussion for refugee supporters who have attended the lobby - if there is the interest. There has been considerable discussion already about what initiatives/strategy for the refugee movement in this election year. The meeting would be an opportunity to network and exchange ideas.
In solidarity, Ian Rintoul Refugee Action Coalition, Sydney
