C. Michael Hawn is Associate Professor of Church Music at Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas. Michael is a student of global church music. He has visited Nigeria, Kenya, Cuba, Haiti, Mexico, Nicaragua, southern Africa, South America and southeast Asia to teach and to study. Michael leads conferences in children's music and worship throughout the United States and is a frequent contributor to many journals including The Hymn, The Chorister, Reformed Liturgy and Music, and Reformed Worship.
In Michael's Seminar, we will:
- worship together using the resources of Christian traditions worldwide;
- learn of materials for worldwide worship;
- learn practical songs from Asia, Latin America and Africa for worship;
- explore how to appreciate cultural differences and still worship together.
