Stephen will have already alerted the group BUT!!   U2 EVENT/s THE YOUTH UNIT NEEDS YOU !!!!!! This is a message encouraging you to join us for a special event… its been promoted by word of mouth and various other egroup and individual emails for some weeks now BUT the time is getting closer!!       PLEASE NOTE AND SPREAD THE WORD!! On Wednesday May 5th 7.30-9.30pm at the UCA Centre for Ministry, Masons Drive North Parramatta There will be a worship event accessing the brilliant music of U2, a new resource called ‘Get Up Off Your Knees: Preaching the U2 Catalogue” and input from one of its editors who collected the sermons/talks worldwide… Rev Dr Raewynne Whiteley [an aussie who is vicar at Swedesboro Episcopalian Church New Jersey in the US]   I’M ACTUALLY LOOKING FOR TWO YOUNG ADULTS TO DO SOME SIMPLE WORSHIP TASKS UPFRONT ON THE NIGHT AND WOULD WELCOME RETURN EMAIL FROM KEEN VOLUNTEERS…. I MAY BE CALLING YOU ANYHOW!!   http://www.nsw.uca.org.au/news/2004/U2-5-6-May.pdf WILL GIVE YOU ACCESS TO A PDF PRINTABLE FLIER FOR DISTRIBUTION   It will be a laidback coffee space styled event including music from Newcastle band ‘A Thousand Lights’… doing interpretations of some U2 music…   We are negotiating with youth/young adults at West Epping to cater for us with coffee, nibbles etc!!   HERE’S THE THING…. WE HAVE BEEN FLAGGING THIS EVENT FOR A MONTH OR SO NOW…. BUT REALLY NEED THE SUPPORT OF  A CROWD FOR THIS EVENT!! I BELIEVE IT WILL BE A VALUABLE, MEANINGFUL AND WORTHWHILE NIGHT, BEYOND U2 ITS ABOUT ACCESSING OUR CULTURE AND CONTEXT IN EXPLORING THE GOSPEL AND MAKING REAL CONNECTIONS WHERE WE ARE… I’M ALSO ASKING FOR YOUR SUPORT BY BEING THERE AND HOPEFULLY NOT TRAVELLING ALONE!!   Realistically I suppose we’re talking greater Sydney area or a crew from the Hunter, Central Coast…. Everyone and anyone would be welcome…   There is also a workshop with Raewynne the next day 2-4pm at the same location… basically about the Gospel and Pop Culture….
