Can I then withhold the portion of my tax being spent on 'Iraq' and 'border protection'?
And give a bit more for schools and hospitals and overseas aid...

perhaps not... maybe I should get into politics but our local federal member (Andren)
is actually quite good.

I remember saying something like this, although not as eloquently and not in
the SMH, when the last tax cut came in.  The amount of money that each
tax-payer got was minimal, but put together it could have done something
worthwhile for some disadvantaged people.

As I understand it, the current proposal isn't all that much more for each
individual tax payer but could do something even more significant.
