Can I then withhold the portion of my tax being spent on 'Iraq' and 'border protection'? And give a bit more for schools and hospitals and overseas aid... perhaps not... maybe I should get into politics but our local federal member (Andren) is actually quite good. I remember saying something like this, although not as eloquently and not in the SMH, when the last tax cut came in. The amount of money that each tax-payer got was minimal, but put together it could have done something worthwhile for some disadvantaged people. As I understand it, the current proposal isn't all that much more for each individual tax payer but could do something even more significant.
