G'day List members,
Yes, I'm a lurker on the list, but occasionally have something to offer.
Dr Ted Endacott and I have been reading Tom's books, and in fact utilizing ideas and concepts from them for some time. We (Uniting Education) offered to critique Tom's ideas and concepts in terms of the educational ministry and mission of the Church, as a contribution to the Conference series.
The Uniting Education web site <www.unitinged.org.au> has an article titled, "Educational Ministry in Bandy's Reform". The article is available for download. Comments are welcome. Please send comment to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Bandy has a great deal to say about education and faith formation - pointing more frequently to what he sees as destructive or inferior. Some times, he also points to critical roles for education and faith formation. Bandy's writing places mission and education in a creative partnership for the sake of the gospel. His ideas about education and faith formation are worth thinking about! His book, "Coaching Change" is probably one of the better ones in the series.
UE will add a further more detailed article around the Conference series time.
Warm regards, John and Ted.
