Gary believes that "If you think that computers are important in the lives of kids, then every kid should have one."

"As soon as kids have computers, teachers start to realise how smart they are or that they have some interesting talents. It allows students to engage in intellectually creative work whenever and wherever they are and as long as it takes to do it.

The most interesting question for Gary is why would people be against laptops?

For the cost of a big city building, every kid in Adelaide could have a laptop! Why wouldn't you do this? Gary believes that laptops are the only affordable model.

"We spend a lot of money on people and on locking down machines and service so that it's difficult to maintain public computers. If people have their own laptops, then it is actually cheaper to maintain them."

What really spoke to me here was not the laptops for everyone theme, instead what hit me was the line...

"Gary believes that "If you think that computers are important in the lives of kids, then every kid should have one."

I Just wanted to add to my previous post that If you think that God/Jesus/Spirit is important in the life of kids then every kid should have one.  For the cost of a city church/building what could we do? Would we be keen to do it?

Quite obviously the City of Adelaide has not sold a building and given everyone laptops, does that mean that the cry was heard and ignored, or not heard, or that it was heard and noone saw the vision?  Do we hear the call?  Are we willing in any ase to act on it?
