Thanks for the rain, but what about ...

Chris Moroney, the president of the NSW Council of Churches (Letters, August 20), wants more prayers for rain. Great idea, Chris. And maybe while you are about it, we could get God to adjust the movement of the sun, so daylight saving didn't involve all that mucking about with clocks.

Barrie Smillie, Duffy (ACT), August 20.

Would all those religious devotees who seem to believe their prayers for rain have been answered enlighten me on one point? What deity is responsible for the drought?

Raymond Miles, Surry Hills, August 20.
