Just thought I'd share with you that I am cross.

I am a last minute replacement on the list of Synod members and so I
only got my working papers today. In with them was some advertising
about a gathering of Progressive Theological Thinkers overlunch on
Sunday. It tells me that I can hear progressive Christianity explained,
network with progressive leaders, ministers and congregation etc, but it
*does not tell me who these people are*.

As a university chaplain, I spend a lot of time complaining that the
high pressure conservative evangelical groups typically *don't* let
people know that they're running activities and often advertise things
that sound interesting and harmless and fun but people turn up and find
themselves under pressure to join something or that what they say is
being presented is not what is actually happening. I would normally not
attend any activity that didn't tell me who was running it and how I
could contact them for further information.

The Reforming Alliance/EMU lunchtime meeting notice tells me who the
speaker is (Peter Bentley), what his topic is and who I can contact for
further information. Many universities insist that advertising on
campus always includes information such as the Alliance has provided. I
am cross, or at least extremely disappointed that the Progressive
Christians have produced such a dodgy advertising leaflet.

Does anyone know who these people are?

Judy
