At the end of last week, our local paper reported on some undecided voters (I live in Dobell electorate, so the undecideds could have made a significant difference to the result, depending on who they chose on the spur of the moment). One (c.80yo female) had me clutching my head in despair:

"I don't like this [Liberal candidate and sitting member] for Dobell - his picture is everywhere you look. And every time I go to the letterbox there's something from him. [The Labor candidate] seems like he has a lot to learn. I'm going to vote for One Nation. I don't know who the candidate is but I'll find out on Saturday."

And we're supposed to respect the wisdom of the aged!! I can only hope that the paper chose to report her view because it was atypical, rather than widespread.
