I am sorrythat the word "skin" I used created this misunderstanding.
What I have done with railspace is exactly what Timothy suggests, alter the CSS, views and layouts to create a different result. I was asking if you had a suggestion regarding the methodology, so others may have some benefit from my changes. From your replies it's obvious that you suggest to keep the 3 .css files skeleton and modify them accordingly, which is what i'll try to do.
