I just wanted to let you all know that, having finished the unexpectedly early detour down Rails 2.1 lane, I've turned my attention to getting Sphinx working for search. I'm usually pretty pessimistic about these sorts of things---"Nothing ever works" is my usual mantra---but Sphinx has been even more annoying than I had feared. I'll post a full post mortem on the blog once I'm done. Till then...
