Hi, Following my moaning posts about my difficulties with PCMCIA on the 3000, I can finally say that the latest betas of the PCMCIA package (available only from the mothersite if I am not mistaken), combined with the kernels such as 2.1.124 solved out-of-the-box all of my problems, except for CardBus, which apparently works form a minority of lucky ones. The only think I am doing "against the book" is that my BIOS Option is PnP YES!, but it looks like my case is somewhat unique. However, I know that there is a small number of people who just couldn't get it working no matter how hard they tried, and I sincerely believe that newKernel+newPCMCIA+PnPYES will finally do it. Cheers, Tasos PS I have flashed the latest BIOS on my machine, so I am not quite sure what is the case with the old BIOS --- http://nts.ml.org FAQ: http://www.ps.uci.edu/~tomba/inspiron/ http://nts.ml.org/inspiron/ List Archives: http://nts.ml.org/inspiron/maillist.html To unsubscribe send a message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] List administrator: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
