I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 7000 and am having problems setting
up the pcmcia ethernet link. The card appears to come up and I can
transfer files to/from other boxes on the local net. However, I have
observed several problems (?) that indicate I may still not have
everything set up correctly.

I am running Red Hat Linux 5.2. When the system boots or I insert the
card after boot I do not get the beeps indicating the card has been
inserted/removed.

If I disconnect the card from the net (or if the net is down when I
boot) I get the following message:

eth0: pc_net_reset_8390 () did not complete. If I then connect the net
this messages stops.

During long file transfers (ie copying whole directories from and other
box on the net
I get the messages:

eth0: Interrupted while interupts are masked! isr=0x01 imr=0x0 or
eth0: bogus packet: status=0x80 nxpg=0x56 size=1518

Any one have any ideas what I forgot to set?
