Yep.
all you need is some kind of terminal emulator (like Seyon, under X,
or minicom under console). Tell them to look for a connection (or a modem)
under /dev/cua0 or /dev/ttyS0 (assuming you are the DB9 outlet in the
notebook). Anything sending things down that serial line will pop up
imidietly on your terminal emulator :) I use it all the time to configure
routers/dialup servers/switches (basicly anything that supports a serial
console)
