I"m going to make a guess here. I'd say you've still got a card or two set
to use PNP. Problem is if those are configured first and they get the IRQ
5, then your sound card is SOL...just my suggestion as to what's happening
tho.

See if there's something else on the irq you have your sound card compiled
to in the kernel. Try /proc/pci and any other of the files there.
ioports. Try popping all your pcmcia cards out. Or, if you want, try
changing the irq in the bios to something new and inventive. Like I say,
I have mine on 5 and haven't had any noticable problems with sound.
