Thanks for the hint: The root filesystem was more or less full (only some MB free space). I cleaned up the root fs in both environments (the active one and the one to patch) and the patch installation worked. Drawback here is that I still not know which of the boot environments was the cuplrit -- the one that I won't to patch or the active one? regards Bernd Enda O'Connor wrote: > > Bernd Schemmer wrote: >> Hi, >> >> using luupgrade to add patches to an inactive boot environment I got >> this error: >> >> [Wed May 06 12:06:48 root at dbkrtdev01 /] >> # time luupgrade -t -n sol10u6_1 -l /var/tmp/patchinst.err >> -o /var/tmp/patchinst.out -s /mnt/All_Patches $( cat >> /var/tmp/patchlist ) >> >> Validating the contents of the media </mnt/All_Patches>. >> The media contains 5914 software patches that can be added. >> Mounting the BE <sol10u6_1>. >> Adding patches to the BE <sol10u6_1>. >> Validating patches... >> >> Loading patches installed on the system... >> >> Done! >> >> Loading patches requested to install. >> >> *cp: /var/tmp/TmpDAAARBaGFD/137137-09/failsafe_archive: No space left >> on device* >> Unmounting the BE <sol10u6_1>. >> The patch add to the BE <sol10u6_1> failed (with result code <1>). >> >> real 13m15.862s >> user 5m35.332s >> sys 2m7.793s >> [Wed May 06 12:47:31 root at dbkrtdev01 /] >> # >> >> >> Question: What /var/tmp is luupgrade talking about ?
