I'd like to give the 2008.11 RC 1B a try.
I've seen on Genunix a couple of USB image compressed files to be, I presume,
used along with USB memory dongles. There's no link to any documentation there.

Despite the images themselves are recognized (once uncompressed) to be "Unix
Fast File system [v1] (little-endian), last mounted on
/export/home/dc/build_data/tmp/, last written at Thu Nov 6 21:58:36 2008,
clean flag 1, number of blocks 779100, number of data blocks 730833, number of
cylinder groups 163, block size 8192, fragment size 1024, minimum percentage of
free blocks 8, rotational delay 0ms, disk rotational speed 120rps, TIME
optimization", I have copied them onto a USB memory dongle. No chance to have
them booted, though.

I'm a newbie in the OS world so maybe I'm missing some important info.
How are these images supposed to be used?
