I'm updating a test system from snv_89 to snv_103. The system has two boot drives, with two SVM/UFS mirror sets for the two BEs.
In the snv_89 BE I've installed the LU packages from snv_103 media, and when twiddling around with lucreate, ludelete, etc. I found that they have problems (perhaps remedied later, because things work okay) with metadevice specified as the root device: /dev/md/dsk/d3 ERROR: Cannot parse sub-mirror in </usr/sbin/metastat> output /dev/rdsk//dev/rdsk/c5t4d0s3: No such file or directory cat: cannot open /tmp/.lulib.luclb.dsk.2929.snv_103: No such file or directory Later on the new BE is created and populated okay, but I do not see any specific messages that LU is trying to use other device names. So this is just a notice for maintainers to check whether the logic actually works or I was lucky in my specific case? :) In general, after a short twiddling encounter, new snv_103's and sol10u6's LiveUpdate seems more functional than its recent versions (snv_77 and sol10u4 LU in particular). Good job guys! :) -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
