Hi,

I just followed the directions on the live demo for upgrading
from 2008.05 to the 2008.11 release on my Tecra M2.
I also have a Windows partition on the system.

The install took awhile, but it went fine, all files installed,
etc. But reboot fails.

But, now I have multiple problems.

Problem #1: When I reboot the system, I see two menu entries for the
2008.11 release.
One shows the actual 2008.11 release, the other is the opensolaris-1 BE
I created, mounted, then installed, and unmounted and activated, per
the example in the Osol demo, here:

http://webcast-west.sun.com/interactive/09B12442/index.html

When I reboot, the order of the GRUB menu is:

Opensolaris 2008.05 x86
Windows
Opensolaris-1 (the one I created and activated using beadm)
Solaris 2008.11 snv_101b_rc2 x86

So, I'm assuming there's a problem right there, but not sure
what I can do to fix, since I can only boot 2008.05 and Windows.

Problem 2: When I attempt to boot either of the 2008.11 versions,
the system hangs right after the message "Use is subject to license terms".

This message appears:

WARNING: pcplusmp: mod_remove_by_name failed 16

Then, the machine hostname is displayed, and then the message:

Configuring devices

And, this is where the system hangs forever, so not sure
what isn't configured correctly and how to fix it?

I need to figure why I have two 2008.11 instances and how I
can remove one, or both. And, what I need to do to reinstall or
reformat the disk to start over? I don't know if the
problem can be fixed w/o starting over.

Not sure what the best course of action is at this point,
but I can't risk anything happening with the 2008.05 OS.

Anyone have any suggestions.

Desperate in WFH land.

Thanks,

Nita
